  1. Hi Christopher,

I like that you added collaborative work using real time collaboration to our tetrad.

    1. The collaborative quality of working online is the gold nugget of using tablets, smartphones, or computers to get work done. It can be done at each person's convenience and time schedule.

  2. What might replace this technology in the future? A holographic video phone? See http://techblog.cosmobc.com/2012/05/02/holographic-phones-released/

  3. Chris,

That was my thinking, Lisa, that holographic video phones would eventually replace our cell (smart) phones. I was also thinking about my grandparents, who never used the Internet and very rarely used the basic cell phone and never a smart phone. Will the land line eventually go away completely, where you can no longer even have one? What about those who don't want to adopt the new technology or the holographic communication? I still have a few relatives that love to write letters and send them via "snail mail". :) I like being able to just send a quick text to someone and get a response rather than having to call and have a full conversation, with holographic phones, I would have to actually be dressed like with Skype, right? :)

  4. Mel,
My 86 year old Aunt is the same, she just got a wireless handset for her landline in Germany (Skype is really well known in Europe). I think landlines will not go away but be used less by the general public. I think boroughs, townships, towns, cities will continue to use landlines as another route of communication when disaster strikes.
Well you would have to be dressed and not in any uncouth poses for the holographic phone, unless you had set up a holographic avatar to answer your phone for you.

  5. Lisa,

That's why my mom still has her land line. She wants a phone to use in an emergency situation if power is lost and her cell battery dies. :)
A holographic avatar sounds cool!! Lol! I'm definitely interested to see where the technology takes us as it continues to evolve.
